Are Design Ideation and Inspiration by Design part of the same business?

Yes. Inspiration by Design is the online and storefront gallery for the business of Design Ideation.

Does Inspiration by Design have a retail storefront gallery?

Yes. The Inspiration by Design gallery is located at 324 S Main Street in historic downtown Stillwater, Minnesota. The gallery shares a space with the Design Ideation Studio. The gallery is open daily. All visitors are welcome.

Is the abstract art available on the site original work.

Yes. The graphic arts made available for purchase on the site are original compositions of Design Ideation. In some cases, elements of the work may have been purchased as graphic content and manipulated into the final compositions shown.

Is the photography shown on the site original photography?

Yes. The photography and photographic arts available for purchase on the site is original works. The photographs were taken by Design Ideation artists. If any cropping, formatting or manipulation has occurred it has been performed by Design Ideation staff in the Design Ideation studio.

Can I submit my own photography or artwork to be sold on the Inspiration by Design site?

Sorry no. All of the works that are made available for purchase on the site are original works of Design Ideation. Design Ideation | Inspiration by Design does offer a Lightbox program for artwork projects.

Accounts and Ordering:
Who qualifies for an account?

Anyone can set up an account. An account is required to make a purchase.

Can individuals order your artwork?

Yes. Our artwork is available to anyone who would like to purchase a single piece or has an artwork project they would like help with.

Do you offer discounts or volume pricing?

Yes. We run special offer discounts and in-studio special offer discounts from time to time

How does pricing differ for artwork projects?

The pricing varies for artwork projects depending on the scope, location and timing of the project. For example, project pricing can be impacted by delivery requirements, installation requirements and studio work requirements, if any.

How do I pay for my order?

We use a pay-pal system for payment. You may pay with pay-pal or a credit card.

Do you charge tax on orders?

We charge sales tax in the following states: California, Colorado, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, and Texas.

Production Time and Shipping:
How long does it take to produce the products?

It takes four business days to produce wraps. Please note: orders placed over the weekend will be considered received on Monday; the day that we receive your order is considered day zero. For example, if you place your order before 5:00 pm Mountain time on a Monday, your order is guaranteed to ship on Thursday.

When will my item ship?

Orders received before 5pm Mountain Time are shipped four business days after receipt of your order. Please take note to consider UPS transit time when calculating the approximate delivery date of your order.

How much does shipping cost?

We use UPS for all shipments and charge standard UPS rates. To get a shipping quote, add the items you wish to order to your shopping cart. In your shopping cart you can enter your zip code and shipping method to get exact rates before you place your order. For gallery wraps shipping prices are quoted based on UPS rates from Stillwater, MN 55082 to the specified zip code.

NOTE: We cannot ship to P.O. or A.P.O. Boxes

How long will my items take to be shipped by UPS?

Standard shipping is UPS Ground. For ground transit times, please see http://www.ups.com/maps/results for a transit time map from our zip code, 55082.
Please note: UPS Ground transit time is not guaranteed. The map depicts typical transit times, but these may be affected by volume and weather implications.

Should you select UPS 2-Day or Next Day Air service, please be advised that those service days are limited to business days. UPS does not extend to us a weekend or holiday delivery service. Please feel free to contact us with questions.

Can you rush my order?

Due to our production capabilities and the rigorous schedule that we prepare and follow to achieve our 4-business day turnaround for all customer orders, we are unable to expedite through our production cycle. You are able to upgrade your shipping to UPS Next Day or 2-Day Air at the time of check out.

Can I ship my order to an address other than mine?

Yes! You can enter a shipping address different than your return address when you checkout. We don"t include a receipt or invoice in the box. The only reference to our company is the return address on the UPS shipping label. (This address is required by UPS.)

Do you ship to Canada or anywhere else outside the US?

We are currently setup to ship with UPS to the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. We have no immediate plans to ship elsewhere internationally. Please note that orders to Canada have very limited tracking information and may take up to 21 days to arrive.

The customer/recipient is responsible for any and all applicable duties and taxes. Product shipping to Canada are duty free but tax may apply (GST, PST or HST). Tax collection in Canada is at the discretion of the Canada Post. Shipments valued at CAD 20.00 or less move into Canada Duty and Tax free (de minimis).

Returns and Policies:
What is your return policy?

With Design Ideation | Inspiration by Design, we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee in regards to the workmanship and quality of materials used to produce your artwork. We strive to deliver high quality products based on the order specifications set forth by the account holder.

Replacements also require our 4-business day production time. The replacement will be shipped under the same shipping service level initially paid for in the original order (i.e., UPS Ground, UPS 2-Day, or UPS Next Day Air).

Reports of shipping or concealed damage must be made within 72 hours of receipt in order to qualify for a replacement.

Canvas Gallery Wrap Questions:
How durable are your gallery wraps? Will the colors fade?

Our suppliers use only premium quality materials in our Canvas Gallery Wraps. The canvas, ink, and coatings are formulated to work together to provide the highest quality, longest lasting product available. Our supplier has their own in-house UV test chamber and we continually test our materials to ensure that color will stand the test of time and last as long or longer than any other canvas prints available.

How can I clean my canvas?

If your canvas does gather any dust, you may wipe it off gently with a clean, damp cloth.

My canvas has a small blemish. What should I do?

If your canvas does get scratched or bumped during its life, you may choose to conceal blemishes using pigment ink based markers that dry quickly. We recommend Copic, available at art specialty stores.

How do I hang my canvas?

Your canvas comes with pre-installed hanging hardware. If you need to install wire hanging hardware for gallery installation, please review the following article: How to install wire hanging hardware on your canvas. We cannot be held responsible for changes or enhancements that you make to your canvas. Canvases that have been damaged through the addition of hanging hardware are not elgibile for return or replacement. Do not install a wire hanging kit by attaching the wire to the pre-installed sawtooth hangers.
